Children should acquire many different speech sounds as they grow, but sometimes they are delayed in comparison to their peers. They may also stutter more often than what is considered typical.

Adults can experience stuttering and/or disordered speech following a stroke or other kinds of brain injury. They may also want help to modify their accent after moving to a new province or country.

Speech therapy helps with difficulties related to motor planning, sound identification and production, and control of speech muscles.
